Privacy policy

In short
Our purpose is to help families, not to use your children's data. We never use what you write about your baby for testing, research, training or anything else, because we never receive it. It is private, and it stays with you.
- Everything you enter stays on your phone. We have no server and no account system, so we never receive your data or your baby's.
- The app has no internet access at all. It does not ask Android for the internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers. We don't use your data to build profiles, and we don't sell or share it, because we never have it.
- You are in control. You can edit or delete anything in the app, and copies only leave your phone if you make them: your phone's Google backup, a backup file you save, or a PDF you share.
Who we are
Baby World: Baby Tracker ("Baby World") is published on Google Play by VKTech-RO, operated by VASILOIU DANIEL-MIHAI PFA, CUI RO38435029, Romania ("we").
Because the app works entirely on your phone, we don't collect or process the information you enter in it. We are responsible (the "controller" under the GDPR) only for what you choose to send us yourself, for example an email to contact@babyworld.vktech.ro.
What the app stores on your phone
Only what you type in, saved in the app's private storage on your phone:
- About you: your name, your role (mother, father or another family member), and optionally an email address and a profile photo. The email is only shown in the app; there is no account and nothing is sent to it.
- About your baby: first name, sex, date of birth, the due date if born early, and whether they are a twin or triplet. The app does not store photos of your child.
- Your logs: sleep; breastfeeding, bottles and solids; pumping sessions; diapers (including stool colour and texture), medicine and doses, temperature, baths, crying and notes; growth measurements (weight, length, head circumference, foot length, clothes size); the leap games you tried; and your reminders.
- Your settings: theme, text size, language, notification choices and the guide values you set.
Some of this is health information about your child. It never leaves your phone unless you take it out yourself, as explained in Backups and sharing.
Permissions the app asks for:
- Notifications and exact alarms, for the reminders you turn on (nap time, feeding time, your own reminders). They are created on the phone; there are no push messages from us.
- Microphone, only when you tap "Measure by the baby" on the Sounds page, to show how loud a soothing sound is near your baby. The level is measured live; nothing is recorded or saved.
- Run after restart and play in the background, so reminders survive a restart and soothing sounds keep playing with the screen off.
The app does not ask for your location, contacts, camera or files. Your profile photo is chosen with Android's photo picker, and backup files with Android's file picker, which share only the item you pick.
Where your data is kept and how it is protected
Your data is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. Android keeps it separate from other apps, and it is encrypted along with the rest of your phone when your phone uses encryption (all modern Android phones do). The app itself adds no extra encryption, so keep your phone locked with a PIN, pattern or fingerprint.
Backups and sharing
A copy of your data leaves your phone only in these cases, and only through Android or Google, never through us:
- Your phone's Google backup. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android copies the app's data (your logs, settings and profile photo) to your own Google account, so it can come back on a new phone. Because the copy holds your baby's health logs, the app allows it only when Android can encrypt it end to end, which needs a screen lock (PIN, pattern or password) on the phone; without one, nothing goes to your Google account. A direct transfer from your old phone to a new one is not affected. This is Google's service, under your agreement with Google; we cannot see it. You can turn it off or delete it in your phone's settings, under Google → Backup.
- A backup file (Baby World Plus). In Settings → Backup → Save a copy, the app makes one .zip file with all your data and saves it wherever you choose, such as your phone or your own Google Drive. The file is not encrypted: anyone who gets it can read the data. Keep it only somewhere you trust, and don't send it to other people. Restoring a copy replaces the data on the phone; the data from before the restore stays on the phone so you can undo it (Settings → Backup → Undo the restore).
- PDF reports (Baby World Plus). When you tap "Make PDF", Android's share menu opens and you decide where the report goes, for example to your paediatrician by email.
Third parties
- Google Play delivers the app and its updates. If you buy Baby World Plus, Google Play handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. Google gives us order records (such as an order number, the product, the date, the price and the country) so we can handle refunds and taxes. Google Play also gives us overall statistics and crash reports that Google collects with your phone's permission; these do not include anything you entered in the app. Google's own privacy policy applies to these services.
- Android and Google backup, as described above, if you have it turned on.
There are no other third parties: no advertising networks, analytics services, data brokers or social media tools.
Children
Baby World is made for parents and caregivers, not for children. The information about your child is entered by you, stays on your phone and is never sent to us. We do not knowingly receive any personal data from children.
How long data is kept
- On your phone: until you delete it. Deleting an entry or a child hides it at once; it is permanently erased when you use "Delete all data" (Settings → Privacy and data). Uninstalling the app removes everything the app stored on your phone.
- Copies you made: backup files and PDFs you saved stay wherever you put them until you delete them. Your Google backup is managed by Google in your phone's settings.
- Emails you send us: kept as long as we need to answer you and deal with your request, and at most 2 years after the conversation ends.
Step-by-step instructions are on Deleting your data.
Your rights
Since your app data is only on your phone, you can see, correct, copy and delete all of it yourself, directly in the app.
For anything you have sent us, you have the right under the GDPR to access it, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Write to contact@babyworld.vktech.ro and we will reply within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we have not respected your rights, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what happens to your data, for example if the app ever needed internet access, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
