Deleting your data
Last updated:
Baby World has no account and no server, so all your data is on your phone, plus any copies you made yourself. We have nothing to delete on our side. Here is how to remove it from each place.
In the app
- One entry: in a history list or in the Calendar, swipe the entry to the left, then tap Delete. You can undo it for a few seconds.
- A child: tap your profile picture at the top right to open Settings → Children, choose the child, then tap Delete.
- Everything: open Settings → Privacy and data → Delete all data (also in Settings → Profile) and confirm. This erases all children and entries, your profile and photo, and your settings. It cannot be undone.
Deleted entries and children disappear from the app at once and are permanently erased with "Delete all data".
Uninstalling the app
Uninstalling Baby World removes everything the app stored on your phone, including temporary files such as PDFs it made. To be sure that nothing at all is left on the phone, use "Delete all data" and then uninstall.
Backup files and PDFs you saved
Backup copies (the .zip files from Settings → Backup → Save a copy) and PDF reports you saved or shared are ordinary files, kept wherever you put them: your phone's storage, a cloud drive, an email you sent. The app cannot reach them after saving. Delete them from that place, for example with your phone's Files app or in your cloud drive.
Your phone's Google backup
If backup is turned on on your phone, Android keeps a copy of the app's data in your own Google account. To remove it:
- Open your phone's Settings → Google → Backup (the names differ a little between phones).
- To stop future backups of the app, turn backup off there.
- To delete what is already saved, open the Google Drive app, go to Backups, and delete your phone's backup. Note that this backup also holds data from your other apps.
Google also replaces old backups automatically, and removes a phone's backup after the phone has not been used for a while.
